Bofill Mir announces the appointment of two new Directors in the Environmental and Labor practices

In line with its commitment to strengthening strategic areas, recognizing outstanding professional paths, and responding to the growing demands of its clients, Bofill Mir Abogados has announced the appointment of María Pilar Domínguez as Director of the Environmental practice and Rafael Sandoval as Director of the Labor practice.

“These appointments reflect our conviction that the strongest teams are built not only on technical excellence, but also on individuals who contribute vision, commitment, and a deep understanding of the environment in which our clients operate,” said Rodrigo Saffirio, Managing Partner of Bofill Mir Abogados, on these promotions.

The strengthening of the Environmental practice, led by María Pilar Domínguez, aims to reinforce the team’s capabilities in a context where environmental factors are increasingly critical for the viability, continuity, and reputation of projects and operations. While this expansion aligns with the firm’s presence in the mining and natural resources industries, it also addresses the cross-cutting environmental challenges facing all productive sectors today—from water management, climate change, and the circular economy to traceability and environmental regulatory compliance in sectors such as energy, real estate, infrastructure, forestry, and agribusiness.

"This appointment is a recognition of the sustained and strategic work we have been developing in the environmental area. It has been a demanding path, one that requires commitment, preparation, and focus. I take on this new role with the conviction that there is still much to build. None of this would have been possible without the Bofill Mir team, whose collaboration and trust have been fundamental every step of the way,” said María Pílar Domínguez regarding her appointment.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Rafael Sandoval as Director of the Labor practice responds to the steady increase in demand for services in this area. More importantly, it seeks to consolidate and further develop the specialty in labor regulatory compliance and preventive advisory services—key areas for the comprehensive management of labor relations. In this way, the firm aims to support its clients in the development of their businesses, considering the evolving challenges they face daily and the implementation of changes, procedures, protocols, and other requirements stemming from increasingly complex labor regulations, such as the 40-Hour Law, the Karin Law, and the Work-Family Reconciliation Law.

“This appointment is an opportunity to further strengthen our value proposition in labor regulatory compliance and preventive advice—two areas that today make a real difference in people management. In an increasingly demanding regulatory environment, our focus will be on anticipating, efficiently implementing, and generating clear criteria that allow companies to operate safely and sustainably in their labor relations,” said Rafael Sandoval about his new role.

Both appointments will be effective as of May 2025. Bofill Mir Abogados is confident that these appointments and the strengthening of these areas will be key to the firm’s strategic growth plan.
